Extra virgin olive oil
Monferrato was historically an area suited to the cultivation of olive trees until 1850, a historical period in which a small glaciation and a conversion of crops in favor of vines meant that olive cultivation was abandoned.
In the mid 1990s, through the passion of the Olearo family, the cultivation of the first plants began, at the “Conca degli Olivi” in Cardona, on a 5-hectare plot of land favorably exposed to the sun and protected from cold currents. Olive trees of the Leccino, Grignan, Pendolino, Taggiasca and Leccio del Corno varieties were planted and in 2008 the production of the first plants began.
Currently the plant is made up of 1200 olive trees and another 300 close to production.
The harvest is carried out manually (manual beating) and the milling takes place directly in the estate occurs within 6 hours, using a continuous cycle mill with cold extraction, installed in 2021
The final product, following filtration, is an extra virgin oil rich in polyphenols with a very low degree of acidity and peroxides, which can be tasted at the wine shop together with the wines.
